A loose-ring bit made of blue-patina mild steel, with a low tongue-port mouthpiece.
✨ Key features
- ✔ Sweet Iron is mild steel, blue-finished during manufacturing by heating. When exposed to humid air and saliva, it develops a surface oxidation with a sweet taste that naturally stimulates salivation: the horse chews more and accepts the bit more readily.
- ✔ Straight mouthpiece with a low tongue port. It provides a little more room for the tongue and distributes pressure correctly across the bars.
- ✔ The rings slide freely through the mouthpiece. Rein aids therefore reach the horse less directly than with a fixed-ring bit: the bit moves, so the horse cannot brace against a fixed contact point.

🐎 Why choose this product?
A little room for the tongue without taking space away from the palate: the first step toward greater tongue freedom when a single joint presses too much at the center.
🧴 Usage advice
⚠️ Bit size is given in millimeters: this is the width of the mouthpiece from one ring to the other. A 125 measures 12.5 cm. Measure your horse's mouth with a measuring gauge, or use the measurement of the bit it currently wears: too wide, the bit moves around and pinches; too narrow, it tightens the corners of the mouth. ⚠️ Fit rubber bit guards: it is between the moving ring and the mouthpiece that the corner of the mouth gets pinched. ⚠️ The blue color turns silver-gray or brown-gray with use, and an orange coating appears when the bit remains unused: this is normal Sweet Iron behavior, not a defect. A wipe with a damp cloth is enough to remove it. This oxidation is not harmful.
