A baby curb bit with fixed shanks, made of blue-patina sweet iron, with a low tongue port.
✨ Key features
- ✔ Sweet Iron is a mild steel that is blued during manufacturing by heating. When exposed to humid air and saliva, it develops a surface oxidation with a sweet taste that naturally stimulates salivation: the horse chews more and accepts the bit more readily.
- ✔ Straight mouthpiece with a low tongue port. It gives the tongue a little more room and distributes pressure correctly across the bars.
- ✔ Compact curb bit with fixed shanks: the mouthpiece does not swivel, so the action is direct.

🐎 Why choose this product?
A little room for the tongue without lifting pressure from the palate: the first step toward greater tongue freedom when a simple joint presses too much in the centre.
🧴 Directions for use
⚠️ Bit size is given in millimetres: it is the width of the mouthpiece from one ring to the other. A 125 measures 12.5 cm. Measure your horse's mouth with a bit ruler, or measure the bit it currently wears: if too wide, the bit moves around and pinches; if too narrow, it tightens the corners of the mouth. ⚠️ A curb bit must always be used with a bridle and curb chain, with two pairs of reins. ⚠️ The blue colour turns silver-grey or brown-grey with use, and an orange film appears when the bit is left unused: this is normal Sweet Iron behaviour, not a defect. A wipe with a damp cloth is enough to remove it. This oxidation is not harmful.
