A Verdun bit (D-rings) made of blue-patinated sweet iron, with a Cherry Roller roller mouthpiece.
✨ Key features
- ✔ Sweet Iron is a mild steel that is blued during manufacturing by heating. When exposed to humid air and saliva, it develops a surface oxidation with a sweet taste that naturally stimulates salivation: the horse chews more and accepts the bit more readily.
- ✔ Single-jointed mouthpiece fitted with free-moving rollers on each side. The rollers discourage the horse from grabbing the bit or locking it between its teeth.
- ✔ Two D-shaped rings that do not pivot back and forth: greater stability and more direct action. The D shape increases lateral pressure against the cheek, making steering easier.

🐎 Why choose this product?
The rollers occupy the mouth of a horse that tries to lock its bit between its teeth — a habit that ruins all contact.
🧴 Directions for use
⚠️ Bit size is given in millimetres: it is the width of the mouthpiece from one ring to the other. A 125 measures 12.5 cm. Measure your horse's mouth with a measuring gauge, or use the measurement of the bit it wears: if it is too wide, the bit moves around and pinches; if it is too narrow, it tightens the corners of the mouth. ⚠️ The blue colour turns silver-grey or brownish-grey with use, and an orange film appears when the bit is left unused: this is normal Sweet Iron behaviour, not a defect. A wipe with a damp cloth is enough to remove it. This oxidation is not harmful.
