✨ Key features
- ✔ Sweet Iron is mild steel blued during manufacturing by heating. When exposed to moist air and saliva, it develops a surface oxidation with a sweet taste that naturally stimulates salivation: the horse chews more and accepts the bit more readily.
- ✔ A succession of articulated elliptical links: the barrel follows every contour and provides no fixed point of leverage. Used on heavy horses that lean on the hand and have difficulty relaxing their jaw.
- ✔ Two vertical cheeks on a fixed ring. These cheeks press against the side of the cheek and significantly improve steering. The ring is smaller than that of a D-ring bit, so the leverage effect is reduced.

🧴 Instructions for use
⚠️ Bit size is given in millimetres: it is the width of the barrel from one ring to the other. A 125 measures 12.5 cm. Measure your horse's mouth with a measuring gauge, or use the measurement of the bit it wears: too wide, the bit moves around and pinches; too narrow, it tightens the corners of the mouth. ⚠️ The high cheeks are attached to the bridle with keepers to prevent them from tipping forward. ⚠️ The blue colour changes to silver-grey or brown-grey with use, and an orange film appears when the bit remains unused: this is normal Sweet Iron behaviour, not a defect. A wipe with a damp cloth is enough to remove it. This oxidation is not harmful. ⚠️ Very mobile barrel, reserved for experienced, steady hands.
