🐎 Why choose this product?
A bell boot covers the heel and the edge of the coronary band, where the hind hoof can strike when the horse loses a shoe or overreaches. It is the least expensive form of horse protection, and the one that prevents the injury that takes the longest to heal. The neoprene-covered edge is the detail that matters: this is where a bell boot can rub, and this is where this one is softened.
🧴 Care instructions
⚠️ A bell boot that is too large will twist and be stepped on; one that is too small will rub the coronary band. When the hoof is on the ground, it should touch the ground at the back, but no more. Place it on a clean, dry hoof, with the opening facing backwards and the Velcro facing outwards, so that a branch cannot open it. It should rest on the ground without tightening around the coronary band. ⚠️ Remove it after the session. Rinse with clean water after use and leave to air-dry. Regularly check the condition of the Velcro: it is the first part to give way.
