A breastplate does not hold the saddle in place by magic: it prevents it from sliding backward on a round-backed horse with little or no withers, or when riding downhill over cross-country terrain. The Brussels is the most discreet of the three TRUST models: it holds without pressing flat against the horse.
🧴 Care instructions
⚠️ Sold without a running martingale attachment. ⚠️ Adjust it so that you can fit one flat hand between the leather and the point of the shoulder: if it is too tight, it restricts the shoulder's range of motion, which shows in the stride before it shows on the coat. Clean with glycerin soap, then condition once the leather is dry. ⚠️ Never dry leather near a radiator: it hardens and cracks.
