The gentlest barrel in the range: the one to use in a young horse's mouth or on a horse that has been marked by a metal bit.
🧴 Usage advice
⚠️ Bit size is given in millimeters: it is the width of the barrel from one ring to the other. A 125 measures 12.5 cm. Measure your horse's mouth with a measuring gauge, or use the measurement of the bit it wears: if it is too wide, the bit moves around and pinches; if it is too narrow, it tightens the corners of the mouth. Choose the thickness according to the mouth: a thick barrel distributes pressure over a larger surface area, but takes up more room in a shallow mouth or one with a thick tongue. ⚠️ The hackamore acts on the nose bridge: make sure the noseband rests on the bone and not on the cartilage of the nostrils. ⚠️ Check the barrel regularly: when correctly positioned on the bars, it rarely becomes damaged, but a sharp tooth can cut into it. ⚠️ Flexi Soft is not well suited to strong horses: its flexibility provides no support.
