Eggbutt bridle snaffle made of mild steel with a blue patina and a medium tongue-relief barrel.
✨ Key features
- ✔ Sweet Iron is mild steel blued during manufacturing by heating. When exposed to humid air and saliva, it develops a surface oxidation with a sweet taste that naturally stimulates salivation: the horse chews more and accepts the bit better.
- ✔ Straight barrel with medium tongue relief: more room for the tongue and less pressure on its center.
- ✔ Small fixed rings: stable position in the mouth and direct action. This format is used as a snaffle on a bridle (12 mm) or as a barrel for a hackamore (12 or 16 mm).

🧴 Usage tips
⚠️ Bit size is given in millimeters: this is the width of the barrel from one ring to the other. A 125 measures 12.5 cm. Measure your horse's mouth with a bit-sizing tool, or measure the bit it currently wears: if it is too wide, the bit moves around and pinches; if it is too narrow, it tightens the corners of the mouth. ⚠️ The blue color turns silver-gray or brown-gray with use, and an orange film appears when the bit is left unused: this is normal Sweet Iron behavior, not a defect. A wipe with a damp cloth is enough to remove it. This oxidation is not harmful.
