NATHE Control D-ring bit, 15 mm
At first glance, this looks like an ordinary double-jointed Nathe Verdun bit. But the Control conceals a mechanism: beyond a certain angle, its joints lock and the mouthpiece acts like a straight bit. As long as the horse is working correctly, it only feels a soft bit; if it resists the hand, the action becomes firmer and relaxes as soon as the contact becomes light again. The 80 mm D-rings frame the shoulder through turns.
