Medical tanning refers to the treatment of the sheepskin: it prevents irritating residues from remaining in a material that stays in contact with sweat for hours. ⚠️ A half pad cannot correct a saddle that does not fit. If it compensates for a saddle that is too wide or too narrow, the saddle needs adjusting—not the addition of a half pad: when used incorrectly, it moves the problem rather than solving it.
🧴 Care instructions
Place the half pad on a clean, dry back, positioning it well up into the saddle's gullet to clear the withers. ⚠️ Sheepskin should only be washed with a concentrated specialist detergent for leather, sheepskin, suede, and nubuck: ordinary detergent hardens the leather and felts the wool. Dry flat, never on a heat source.
