The Grantham is fitted with a Mexican crossed noseband: the two straps cross high on the nasal bone, above the nostrils, and meet beneath the bit. It stabilizes the bit and prevents the horse from crossing its jaw, without ever compressing the nostrils as a flash noseband would.
One detail that matters: the noseband features sheepskin on the nose, exactly at the crossing point, where pressure is concentrated. Anatomical, padded and very soft crownpiece, rounded raised and lined browband, tonal topstitching and round buckles.

🧴 Care instructions
⚠️ The crossing must sit above the nostrils, never on them: if positioned too low, the Mexican noseband can hinder breathing. Check this height every time you put it on. Hand-wash the sheepskin, without fabric softener. Clean the leather with saddle soap, then apply leather grease.
