A wide noseband does not exert less pressure: it distributes it. The difference becomes apparent during the spring clip, when pressure marks appear on a nasal bone compressed by a narrow noseband.
🧴 Usage advice
⚠️ Adjust the noseband so that two fingers can fit over the nasal bone, and the throatlash so that one flat hand can fit underneath. An overly tight bridle does not make a horse more stable: it prevents the horse from chewing and swallowing. Clean with glycerin soap after each use, then condition the leather once it is dry. ⚠️ Never dry leather near a radiator: it will harden and crack.
