Plain eggbutt snaffle with a thicker 18 mm mouthpiece. Solid stainless steel, with 65 mm rings. On an eggbutt bit, the rings do not rotate freely, so the aids have a more direct action than with a loose-ring bit. This type of bit is generally well accepted because the mouthpiece remains relatively stable in the horse’s mouth.

✨ Key features

  • ✔ Solid stainless steel: rust-resistant, easy to clean, and built to last for years
  • ✔ Eggbutt design: fixed rings, stable mouthpiece, more direct action
  • ✔ Thick 18 mm mouthpiece for a gentler action
  • ✔ 65 mm rings

📋 Technical specifications

  • Type: eggbutt snaffle, single-jointed
  • Material: solid stainless steel
  • Mouthpiece thickness: 18 mm
  • Ring diameter: 65 mm
  • Sizes: 11.5 cm / 12.5 cm

🐎 Why choose this product?

A thick mouthpiece distributes pressure over a larger surface area, making it less noticeable. However, the horse must have enough room for it: in a shallow mouth or with a thick tongue, an 18 mm mouthpiece may instead cause discomfort.

🧴 Usage tips

Measure the width from one ring to the other with the mouthpiece straight. ⚠️ A bit that is too narrow pinches the corners of the mouth; one that is too wide moves around in the mouth and knocks against the teeth. Allow approximately half a centimetre of mouthpiece to show on each side.
