The distance between the rings determines where the rein is deflected. Being able to adjust it, rather than having to accept a fixed position, changes the action on a horse with a broad or narrow chest.
🧴 Care instructions
⚠️ If adjusted too short, a martingale acts constantly and becomes a restrictive training aid. When correctly adjusted, it does nothing as long as the horse remains within its normal range of movement. Always fit rein stops and use buckle-end reins. Clean with glycerin soap, then condition once the leather is dry. ⚠️ Never dry leather near a radiator: it will harden and crack.
