This eggbutt bit combines high-quality stainless steel with flexible plastic. The whole bit remains stable while staying gentle in the horse’s mouth. The plastic has a hardness of 90A and is FDA-approved: it is solvent-free, plasticizer-free, and non-toxic. On an eggbutt bit, the rings do not rotate freely, so the aids have a more direct effect than with a loose-ring bit. This type of bit is generally well accepted because the mouthpiece remains relatively fixed in the horse’s mouth.

🧴 Instructions for use
Measure the width from one ring to the other, with the mouthpiece stretched straight. ⚠️ A bit that is too narrow pinches the corners of the mouth; one that is too wide moves around in the mouth and knocks against the teeth. Allow approximately half a centimetre of visible mouthpiece on each side. ⚠️ Check the condition of the plastic regularly: a mouthpiece that is cut or chewed must be replaced.
