- ✔ An elastic material that is harder than Port Medium and difficult to flex. The tongue relief reduces pressure on the center of the tongue.
- ✔ Two vertical shanks on a fixed ring. These shanks press against the side of the cheek and make steering considerably easier. The ring is smaller than that of a D-ring bit, so the leverage effect is reduced.

🧴 Usage advice
⚠️ Bit size is given in millimetres: it is the width of the mouthpiece from one ring to the other. A 125 measures 12.5 cm. Measure your horse's mouth with a bit sizer, or measure the bit it currently wears: if it is too wide, the bit moves around and pinches; if it is too narrow, it tightens the corners of the mouth. Choose the thickness according to the mouth: a thick mouthpiece distributes pressure over a larger surface area, but takes up too much space in a shallow mouth or with a thick tongue. ⚠️ The upper shanks are attached to the bridle with keepers to prevent them from tipping forward. ⚠️ Check the mouthpiece regularly: when correctly positioned on the bars, it rarely gets damaged, but a sharp tooth can nick it.
