A 2.5-ring bit made of mild steel with a blue patina and a low tongue port.
✨ Key features
- ✔ Sweet Iron is mild steel, blued during manufacturing by heating. When exposed to moist air and saliva, it develops a surface oxidation with a sweet taste that naturally stimulates salivation: the horse chews more and accepts the bit better.
- ✔ Straight mouthpiece with a low tongue port. It provides a little more room for the tongue and distributes pressure correctly across the bars.
- ✔ A milder version of the three-ring (Pessoa) bit: leverage is present, becoming more direct the lower the rein is attached. The loose rings allow more movement in the bit than a version with eggbutt rings.

🐎 Why choose this product?
A little more room for the tongue without lifting the bit away from the palate: the first step toward greater tongue freedom when a single joint presses too much in the center.
🧴 Usage tips
⚠️ Bit size is given in millimeters: it is the width of the mouthpiece from one ring to the other. A 125 measures 12.5 cm. Measure your horse's mouth with a bit ruler, or use the measurement of the bit it currently wears: if it is too wide, the bit moves around and pinches; if it is too narrow, it tightens the corners of the mouth. ⚠️ Leverage acts on the poll: use it with a light hand and check the cheekpiece adjustment. ⚠️ The blue color turns silver-gray or brownish-gray with use, and an orange film appears when the bit remains unused: this is normal Sweet Iron behavior, not a defect. A wipe with a damp cloth is enough to remove it. This oxidation is not harmful.
