A 2.5-ring bit made of blue-patinated Sweet Iron, with a twisted single-jointed mouthpiece.
✨ Key features
- ✔ Sweet Iron is mild steel, blued during manufacture by heating. When exposed to humid air and saliva, it develops a surface oxidation with a sweet taste that naturally stimulates salivation: the horse chews more and accepts the bit more readily.
- ✔ Single joint with both arms twisted. The twisting creates edges, resulting in a sharper action on the bars than a smooth single joint.
- ✔ A milder version of the three-ring (Pessoa): leverage is present and becomes more direct when the rein is attached lower down. The loose rings allow the bit more movement than a version with fixed rings.

🐎 Why choose this product?
The twisting sharpens the action on the bars: this is a bit for occasional corrective use and should not be left in a horse's mouth permanently.
🧴 Usage advice
⚠️ Bit size is given in millimetres: this is the width of the mouthpiece from one ring to the other. A 125 measures 12.5 cm. Measure your horse's mouth with a bit ruler, or use the measurement of the bit it currently wears: if too wide, the bit moves around and pinches; if too narrow, it tightens the corners of the mouth. ⚠️ Leverage acts on the poll: use it with a light hand and check the cheekpiece adjustment. ⚠️ The blue colour turns silver-grey or brown-grey with use, and an orange film appears when the bit is left unused: this is normal Sweet Iron behaviour, not a defect. A wipe with a damp cloth is enough to remove it. This oxidation is not harmful. ⚠️ This mouthpiece is not suitable for sensitive horses or inexperienced riders.
