A bit with large loose rings made of blue-patina mild steel, featuring a low tongue port.
✨ Key features
- ✔ Sweet Iron is mild steel blued during manufacturing by heating. When exposed to humid air and saliva, it develops a sweet-tasting oxidation layer on the surface that naturally stimulates salivation: the horse chews more and accepts the bit more readily.
- ✔ Straight mouthpiece with a low tongue port. It provides a little more room for the tongue and distributes pressure correctly across the bars.
- ✔ The rings slide freely through the mouthpiece, and their large diameter provides more leverage than an ordinary ring.

🐎 Why choose this product?
A little room for the tongue without relieving pressure on the palate: the first step toward tongue freedom when a simple joint presses too much in the centre.
🧴 Instructions for use
⚠️ Bit size is given in millimetres: it is the width of the mouthpiece from one ring to the other. A 125 measures 12.5 cm. Measure your horse's mouth with a bit-measuring tool, or use the measurement of the bit it wears: if too wide, the bit moves around and pinches; if too narrow, it tightens the corners of the mouth. ⚠️ Fit rubber bit guards: it is between the movable ring and the mouthpiece that the corner of the mouth gets pinched. ⚠️ The blue colour turns silver-grey or brown-grey with use, and an orange film appears when the bit is left unused: this is normal Sweet Iron behaviour, not a defect. A wipe with a damp cloth is enough to remove it. This oxidation is not harmful.
