A three-ring (Pessoa) bit made of Sweet Iron with a blue patina and a low tongue port.
✨ Key features
- ✔ Sweet Iron is mild steel that is blued during manufacturing by heating. When exposed to humid air and saliva, it develops a sweet-tasting surface oxidation that naturally stimulates salivation: the horse chews more and accepts the bit better.
- ✔ Straight mouthpiece with a low tongue port. It provides a little more room for the tongue and distributes pressure correctly across the bars.
- ✔ Leverage cheekpiece: the lower the rein is attached, the stronger the action. The point of pressure is on the poll, just behind the ears.

🐎 Why choose this product?
A little room for the tongue without relieving pressure on the palate: the first step toward tongue freedom when a simple joint puts too much pressure in the center.
🧴 Usage advice
⚠️ Bit size is given in millimetres: it is the width from one ring to the other. A 125 measures 12.5 cm. Measure your horse's mouth with a measuring gauge, or measure the bit it currently wears: if it is too wide, the bit moves around and pinches; if it is too narrow, it constricts the corners of the mouth. ⚠️ A three-ring bit increases the leverage of the hand. Start with the highest ring. ⚠️ The blue colour turns silver-grey or brown-grey with use, and an orange film appears when the bit is left unused: this is normal Sweet Iron behaviour, not a defect. A wipe with a damp cloth is enough to remove it. This oxidation is not harmful.
