A Baucher bit made of blue-patinated mild steel, with a low tongue port.
✨ Key features
- ✔ Sweet Iron is mild steel, blued during manufacture by heating. When exposed to humid air and saliva, it develops a surface oxidation with a sweet taste that naturally stimulates salivation: the horse chews more and accepts the bit better.
- ✔ Straight mouthpiece with a low tongue port. It gives the tongue a little more room and distributes pressure correctly across the bars.
- ✔ Fixed ring cheekpiece extended by an upper shank to which the bridle attaches. The bit remains very stable in the horse's mouth.

🐎 Why choose this product?
A little extra room for the tongue without lifting it away from the palate: the first step toward tongue freedom when a single-jointed mouthpiece applies too much pressure in the center.
🧴 Usage advice
⚠️ Bit size is given in millimeters: it is the width of the mouthpiece from one ring to the other. A 125 measures 12.5 cm. Measure your horse's mouth with a bit ruler, or use the measurement of the bit it currently wears: if too wide, the bit moves around and pinches; if too narrow, it squeezes the corners of the mouth. ⚠️ The blue color changes to silver-gray or brownish gray with use, and an orange film appears when the bit is left unused: this is normal Sweet Iron behavior, not a defect. A wipe with a damp cloth is enough to remove it. This oxidation is not harmful.
