A fixed-shank curb bit made of blue-patinated Sweet Iron, with a low tongue port.
✨ Key features
- ✔ Sweet Iron is mild steel blued during manufacturing by heating. When exposed to humid air and saliva, it develops a surface oxidation with a sweet taste that naturally stimulates salivation: the horse chews more and accepts the bit better.
- ✔ Straight mouthpiece with a low tongue port. It leaves a little more room for the tongue and distributes pressure correctly across the bars.
- ✔ Fixed-shank curb bit: the mouthpiece does not pivot on the shanks, so the action is direct. It is used with a bridle, together with a snaffle, and with a curb chain.

🐎 Why choose this product?
A little room for the tongue without raising the port toward the palate: the first step toward tongue freedom when a single-jointed mouthpiece presses too much in the center.
🧴 How to use
⚠️ Bit size is given in millimeters: it is the width of the mouthpiece from one ring to the other. A 125 measures 12.5 cm. Measure your horse's mouth with a bit ruler, or use the measurement of the bit it currently wears: if too wide, the bit moves around and pinches; if too narrow, it tightens the corners of the mouth. ⚠️ A curb bit must always be used with a snaffle and a curb chain, with two pairs of reins. ⚠️ The blue color turns silver-gray or brown-gray with use, and an orange-colored film appears when the bit remains unused: this is normal Sweet Iron behavior, not a defect. A wipe with a damp cloth is enough to remove it. This oxidation is not harmful.
