A long combined hackamore bit made of blue-finished mild steel, with a mouthpiece featuring medium tongue relief.
✨ Key features
- ✔ Sweet Iron is mild steel blued during manufacturing by heating. When exposed to humid air and saliva, it develops a surface oxidation with a sweet taste that naturally stimulates salivation: the horse chews more and accepts the bit more readily.
- ✔ Straight mouthpiece with medium tongue relief: more room for the tongue and less pressure on its center.
- ✔ Combines a hackamore and a bit: pressure is distributed between the mouth, nose, and jaw. The long shanks increase leverage and therefore intensity.

🧴 Usage tips
⚠️ Bit size is given in millimeters: it is the width of the mouthpiece from one ring to the other. A 125 measures 12.5 cm. Measure your horse's mouth with a bit sizer, or measure the bit it currently wears: if it is too wide, the bit moves around and pinches; if it is too narrow, it tightens the corners of the mouth. ⚠️ Significant leverage: intended for experienced riders only. Make sure the noseband rests on the bone, not on the cartilage of the nostrils. ⚠️ The blue color turns silver-gray or brown-gray with use, and an orange film appears when the bit is left unused: this is normal Sweet Iron behavior, not a defect. A wipe with a damp cloth is enough to remove it. This oxidation is not harmful.
