A long combined hackamore bit made of blue-patinated sweet iron, with a twisted barrel and locking joint.
✨ Key features
- ✔ Sweet Iron is mild steel blued during manufacturing by heating. When exposed to humid air and saliva, it develops a surface oxidation with a sweet taste that naturally stimulates salivation: the horse chews more and accepts the bit better.
- ✔ Simple twisted joint that locks when it bends: under tension, the barrel acts like a straight barrel, then becomes a simple joint again as soon as the hand gives. The twist adds edges, resulting in a more incisive action.
- ✔ Combines a hackamore and a bit: pressure is distributed between the mouth, nose, and jaw. The long shanks increase leverage, and therefore intensity.

🧴 Usage advice
⚠️ Bit size is given in millimetres: it is the width of the barrel from one ring to the other. A 125 measures 12.5 cm. Measure your horse's mouth with a bit ruler, or use the measurement of the bit it wears: too wide, the bit moves around and pinches; too narrow, it presses the corners of the mouth. ⚠️ Significant leverage: reserved for experienced riders. Make sure the noseband rests on the bone and not on the cartilage of the nostrils. ⚠️ The blue color turns silver-gray or brown-gray with use, and an orange film appears when the bit remains unused: this is normal Sweet Iron behavior, not a defect. A wipe with a damp cloth is enough to remove it. This oxidation is not harmful. ⚠️ Corrective barrel for horses that lean on the bit or run through the hand. Not suitable for sensitive horses or inexperienced riders.
