A long combined hackamore bit in blue-patina mild steel, with a Waterford ball-link mouthpiece.
✨ Key features
- ✔ Sweet Iron is mild steel, blued during manufacture by heating. When exposed to humid air and saliva, it develops a surface oxidation with a sweet taste that naturally stimulates salivation: the horse chews more and accepts the bit more readily.
- ✔ A succession of articulated elliptical links: the mouthpiece conforms to every shape and offers no fixed point of resistance. Used on heavy-handed horses that have difficulty relaxing their jaw.
- ✔ Combines a hackamore and a bit: pressure is distributed between the mouth, nose, and jaw. The long shanks increase leverage, and therefore intensity.

🐎 Why choose this product?
No fixed point of resistance: the strong horse has nothing to lean against. Reserve it for steady hands, as its mobility leaves no room for a moving hand.
🧴 Instructions for use
⚠️ Bit size is given in millimetres: it is the width of the mouthpiece from one ring to the other. A 125 measures 12.5 cm. Measure your horse's mouth with a bit-measuring tool, or use the measurement of the bit it wears: too wide, the bit moves around and pinches; too narrow, it tightens the corners of the mouth. ⚠️ Significant leverage: for experienced riders only. Make sure the noseband rests on the bone and not on the cartilage of the nostrils. ⚠️ The blue colour turns silver-grey or brown-grey with use, and an orange film appears when the bit is left unused: this is normal Sweet Iron behaviour, not a defect. A wipe with a damp cloth is enough to remove it. This oxidation is not harmful. ⚠️ Very mobile mouthpiece, for experienced and steady hands only.
