- ✔ Sweet Iron is mild steel, blued during manufacture by heating. When exposed to humid air and saliva, it develops a surface oxidation with a sweet taste that naturally stimulates salivation: the horse chews more and accepts the bit better.
- ✔ Double-jointed with a flat central plate. When the bit tilts, pressure is distributed between the center and the sides of the tongue.
- ✔ Similar to a Pelham, but with more direct action. It can be used with one or two reins: the lower the rein, the greater the leverage. It can also be used as a driving bit.
- ✔ More incisive mouthpiece than a standard double-jointed bit: the plate acts edge-on against the tongue.

🧴 Instructions for use
⚠️ Bit size is given in millimeters: this is the width of the mouthpiece from one ring to the other. A 125 measures 12.5 cm. Measure your horse's mouth with a measuring gauge, or use the measurement of the bit it currently wears: if too wide, the bit moves around and pinches; if too narrow, it tightens the corners of the mouth. ⚠️ A curb chain is essential. ⚠️ The blue color turns silver-gray or brown-gray with use, and an orange film appears when the bit remains unused: this is normal Sweet Iron behavior, not a defect. A wipe with a damp cloth is enough to remove it. This oxidation is not harmful.
