A Liverpool bit with 2 slots, fixed cheeks, made of blue-patina mild steel, with a low tongue relief mouthpiece.
✨ Key features
- ✔ Sweet Iron is mild steel, blued during manufacture by heating. When exposed to humid air and saliva, it develops a sweet-tasting surface oxidation that naturally stimulates salivation: the horse chews more and accepts the bit better.
- ✔ Straight mouthpiece with low tongue relief. It leaves a little more room for the tongue and distributes pressure correctly across the bars.
- ✔ Driving bit with two adjustment slots: the rein is placed in one or the other depending on the desired intensity, with the lower slot providing the strongest leverage. The cheeks are fixed, so the action is direct.

🐎 Why choose this product?
A little room for the tongue without relieving pressure on the palate: the first step toward tongue freedom when a single-jointed bit presses too much in the center.
🧴 Usage advice
⚠️ Bit size is given in millimeters: it is the width of the mouthpiece from one ring to the other. A 125 measures 12.5 cm. Measure your horse's mouth with a measuring gauge, or use the measurement of the bit it wears: if it is too wide, the bit moves around and pinches; if it is too narrow, it squeezes the corners of the mouth. ⚠️ Driving bit: adjust both sides to the same slot; otherwise, the carriage will pull unevenly. A curb chain is essential. ⚠️ The blue color turns silver-gray or brown-gray with use, and an orange film appears when the bit remains unused: this is normal Sweet Iron behavior, not a defect. A wipe with a damp cloth is enough to remove it. This oxidation is not harmful.
