A 2-slot Liverpool bit with rotating shanks, made of blue-patinated Sweet Iron and featuring a single-jointed mouthpiece.
✨ Key features
- ✔ Sweet Iron is mild steel, blued during manufacturing by heating. When exposed to humid air and saliva, it develops a surface oxidation with a sweet taste that naturally stimulates salivation: the horse chews more and accepts the bit more readily.
- ✔ Single joint. This mouthpiece puts less pressure on the tongue than a double-jointed one and works mainly on the bars and sides of the tongue. It is the standard mouthpiece.
- ✔ Driving bit with two adjustment slots, whose mouthpiece pivots on the shanks: the action is applied more progressively than with fixed shanks.

🐎 Why choose this product?
This is the mouthpiece most horses are familiar with: the one to start with, and to return to when you want to determine what comes from the bit and what comes from the hand.
🧴 Usage advice
⚠️ Bit size is given in millimeters: it is the width of the mouthpiece from one ring to the other. A 125 measures 12.5 cm. Measure your horse's mouth with a bit measuring tool, or use the measurement of the bit it wears: if it is too wide, the bit moves around and pinches; if it is too narrow, it presses the corners of the mouth. ⚠️ Driving bit: adjust both sides to the same slot. A curb chain is essential. ⚠️ The blue color turns silver-gray or brownish-gray with use, and an orange film appears when the bit remains unused: this is normal Sweet Iron behavior, not a defect. A wipe with a damp cloth is enough to remove it. This oxidation is not harmful.
