A Liverpool bit with 3 slots and fixed cheeks, made of mild steel with a blue patina, featuring a medium tongue port.
✨ Key features
- ✔ Sweet Iron is mild steel that is blued during manufacturing by heating. When exposed to moist air and saliva, it develops a surface oxidation with a sweet taste that naturally stimulates salivation: the horse chews more and accepts the bit more readily.
- ✔ Straight mouthpiece with a medium tongue port: more room for the tongue and less pressure on its center.
- ✔ Driving bit with three adjustment slots: the lower the rein is placed, the greater the leverage. The cheeks are fixed, so the action is direct.

🧴 Care and use instructions
⚠️ A bit's size is given in millimeters: this is the width of the mouthpiece from one ring to the other. A 125 measures 12.5 cm. Measure your horse's mouth with a measuring gauge, or use the measurement of the bit it wears: if too wide, the bit moves around and pinches; if too narrow, it tightens the corners of the mouth. ⚠️ Driving bit: adjust both sides to the same slot. A curb chain is essential. ⚠️ The blue color turns silver-gray or brownish gray with use, and an orangish film appears when the bit remains unused: this is normal Sweet Iron behavior, not a defect. A wipe with a damp cloth is enough to remove it. This oxidation is not harmful.
