A baby Pelham bit made of Sweet Iron with a blue patina and a mouthpiece with brass rings.
✨ Key features
- ✔ Sweet Iron is mild steel blued during manufacturing by heating. When exposed to humid air and saliva, it develops a surface oxidation with a sweet taste that naturally stimulates salivation: the horse chews more and accepts the bit better.
- ✔ Mouthpiece fitted with brass rings in the center. It is suitable for horses with a “dead” mouth that need stimulation, and increases tongue activity.
- ✔ Pelham with reduced dimensions: combined action on the poll and chin, with one or two reins.

🐎 Why choose this product?
The brass stimulates a mouth that no longer salivates or stays active: this is a bit for getting the horse’s mouth working again, not an everyday bit.
🧴 Instructions for use
⚠️ Bit size is given in millimeters: it is the width of the mouthpiece from one ring to the other. A 125 measures 12.5 cm. Measure your horse’s mouth with a measuring gauge, or use the measurement of the bit it wears: if too wide, the bit moves around and pinches; if too narrow, it tightens the corners of the mouth. ⚠️ With a single rein, a curb strap connector is required between the large ring and the lower ring. A curb chain is essential. ⚠️ The blue color turns silver-gray or brown-gray with use, and an orange film appears when the bit remains unused: this is the normal behavior of Sweet Iron, not a defect. A wipe with a damp cloth is enough to remove it. This oxidation is not harmful. ⚠️ On a horse that is already restless with its mouth, this stimulation may have the opposite effect.
