A Swivel bit made of blue-patinated mild steel, with a Waterford ball barrel.
✨ Key features
- ✔ Sweet Iron is mild steel, blued during manufacturing by heating. When exposed to humid air and saliva, it develops a surface oxidation with a sweet taste that naturally stimulates salivation: the horse chews more and accepts the bit better.
- ✔ A succession of articulated elliptical links: the barrel follows every contour and offers no fixed point of resistance. Used on heavy-mouthed horses that have difficulty relaxing their jaw.
- ✔ Loose rings with two inner half-rings connected by a vertical bar. The barrel is attached to this bar and pivots up and down, producing a lifting effect. It can be used with one or two reins.

🐎 Why choose this product?
No fixed point of support: the heavy-mouthed horse has nothing to lean against. Reserve it for experienced hands, as its mobility does not forgive unsteady hands.
🧴 Usage advice
⚠️ Bit size is given in millimeters: this is the width of the barrel from one ring to the other. A 125 measures 12.5 cm. Measure your horse's mouth with a bit ruler, or use the measurement of the bit it wears: if too wide, the bit moves around and pinches; if too narrow, it tightens the corners of the mouth. ⚠️ The blue color turns silver-gray or brownish-gray with use, and an orange film appears when the bit is left unused: this is the normal behavior of Sweet Iron, not a defect. A wipe with a damp cloth is enough to remove it. This oxidation is not harmful. ⚠️ Very mobile barrel, reserved for experienced and steady hands.
