A Verdun bit (D-rings) made of mild steel with a blue patina, featuring a mouthpiece with brass rings.
✨ Key benefits
- ✔ Sweet Iron is mild steel, blue-finished during manufacturing by heating. When exposed to humid air and saliva, it develops a surface oxidation with a sweet taste that naturally stimulates salivation: the horse chews more and accepts the bit better.
- ✔ Mouthpiece fitted with brass rings in the center. It is suitable for horses with an unresponsive mouth that need stimulation, and increases tongue activity.
- ✔ Two D-shaped rings that do not rock back and forth: greater stability and more direct action. The D shape increases lateral pressure against the cheek, making steering easier.

🐎 Why choose this product?
The brass reawakens a mouth that no longer salivates or shows activity: this is a bit for getting the mouth working again, not an everyday bit.
🧴 Usage advice
⚠️ Bit size is given in millimeters: this is the width of the mouthpiece from one ring to the other. A 125 measures 12.5 cm. Measure your horse's mouth with a bit measuring tool, or use the measurement of the bit it wears: if too wide, the bit moves around and pinches; if too narrow, it tightens the corners of the mouth. ⚠️ The blue color turns silver-gray or brown-gray with use, and an orange-colored film appears when the bit remains unused: this is the normal behavior of Sweet Iron, not a defect. A wipe with a damp cloth is enough to remove it. This oxidation is not harmful. ⚠️ On a horse that is already restless in the mouth, this stimulation may have the opposite effect.
