A Verdun bit (D-rings) made of blue-patina sweet iron, with a curved mouthpiece.
✨ Key features
- ✔ Sweet Iron is a mild steel that is blued during manufacturing by heating. When exposed to moist air and saliva, it develops a surface oxidation with a sweet taste that naturally stimulates salivation: the horse chews more and accepts the bit better.
- ✔ One-piece, curved mouthpiece with no joint.
- ✔ Two D-shaped rings that do not rock back and forth, providing greater stability and more direct action. The D shape increases lateral pressure against the cheek, making steering easier.

🧴 Instructions for use
⚠️ Bit size is given in millimeters: this is the width of the mouthpiece from one ring to the other. A 125 measures 12.5 cm. Measure your horse's mouth with a measuring gauge, or use the measurement of the bit it currently wears: if too wide, the bit moves around and pinches; if too narrow, it tightens the corners of the mouth. ⚠️ The blue color changes to silver-gray or brown-gray with use, and an orange-colored film appears when the bit remains unused: this is normal Sweet Iron behavior, not a defect. A wipe with a damp cloth is enough to remove it. This oxidation is not harmful.
