A Verdun bit (D-rings) made of blue-patinated sweet iron, with a single-jointed twisted mouthpiece.
✨ Key features
- ✔ Sweet Iron is mild steel, blued during manufacture by heating. When exposed to humid air and saliva, it develops a surface oxidation with a sweet taste that naturally stimulates salivation: the horse chews more and accepts the bit better.
- ✔ Single joint with both arms twisted. The twist creates edges, resulting in a sharper action on the bars than a smooth single joint.
- ✔ Two D-shaped rings that do not rock back and forth: greater stability and more direct action. The D-shape increases lateral pressure against the cheek, making steering easier.

🐎 Why choose this product?
The twist sharpens the action on the bars: this is a bit for occasional corrective use and should not be left in a horse's mouth permanently.
🧴 Directions for use
⚠️ Bit size is given in millimetres: it is the width of the mouthpiece from one ring to the other. A 125 measures 12.5 cm. Measure your horse's mouth with a measuring gauge, or use the measurement of the bit it wears: too wide, the bit moves around and pinches; too narrow, it tightens the corners of the mouth. ⚠️ The blue colour changes to silver-grey or brown-grey with use, and an orange film appears when the bit remains unused: this is normal Sweet Iron behaviour, not a defect. A wipe with a damp cloth is enough to remove it. This oxidation is not harmful. ⚠️ This mouthpiece is not suitable for sensitive horses or inexperienced riders.
