The cavesson alone does not prevent jaw displacement, while the German noseband alone leaves the nose bridge free. The double noseband acts on both areas at once, which neither one can do on its own.
🧴 Usage advice
⚠️ The chin strap should be adjusted after the noseband, never the other way around, and should allow one finger to pass through: if too tight, it prevents the horse from chewing and causes the opposite of the intended effect. Clean with glycerine soap, then apply leather conditioner once the leather is dry.
