MAX-Control 16 mm Pelham with locking mechanism – Stainless steel
The Max-Control Pelham has a double-jointed mouthpiece, but forms a straight bar when the reins are tensioned, providing targeted and effective action on the tongue, poll and lower jaw. Depending on the rein position, the leverage effect on the poll can be adjusted as desired; its short shanks make this effect more direct.
Key features
- Double-jointed Max-Control Pelham.
- For schooling and correcting the horse.
- Locks at a certain angle and acts like a straight bit; unlocks as soon as the contact softens.
- Greater control over strong and powerful horses.
- The leverage effect on the poll can be adjusted according to the chosen rein position.
- Often used with Pelham roundings; from a certain level onward, two pairs of reins are recommended.
- Short shanks: the leverage effect comes into play more directly.
- 16 mm mouthpiece, 5 cm lower shanks.
The Max-Control mechanism
- At a glance, there is nothing to distinguish a Max-Control from a conventional double-jointed bit.
- At a certain angle — when the rider firmly takes up the rein or the horse pulls strongly — the mouthpiece locks and briefly forms a straight bar. The effect is smooth but enables precise communication.
- As soon as the horse yields and the contact becomes light again, the bit unlocks immediately.
- A schooling and correction bit, also suitable for sensitive mouths when used with gentle hands.
The stainless-steel finish
- Neutral in the mouth, highly durable and requiring no special maintenance.
