The nasal bone has almost no flesh: the skin lies directly over the bone. That is why an incorrectly adjusted noseband leaves marks so quickly, and why a narrow noseband leaves more marks than a wide one. Sheepskin is the simplest way to widen the contact area without changing your equipment.
🧴 Usage tips
⚠️ Add the noseband cover, then check the adjustment again: the thickness of the wool tightens the noseband, so you will often need to loosen it by one hole. One finger should fit between the sheepskin and the nasal bone. Hand-wash without fabric softener: sheepskin caked with sweat becomes abrasive.
