The oiled leather in the Foster series is nourished with vegetable oils during tanning: the pores open and the oil penetrates deeply through several layers. The leather remains supple for years, does not dry out, and develops the subtly marked patina seen especially on the brown version. The oiled Comfort girth features a removable synthetic sheepskin lining secured with hook-and-loop fasteners. Wide bib, anatomical cut, elastic inserts on both sides, and a snap hook. A replacement pad is available separately.

The synthetic sheepskin can be washed and the leather conditioned: two separate care routines, but a girth that stays hygienic much longer than one with a sewn-in lining.
🧴 Care instructions
The synthetic sheepskin detaches via its hook-and-loop fasteners and can be hand-washed at 30°C or machine-washed in a laundry bag. Dry it flat, never in a tumble dryer. The leather should be cared for separately with saddle soap.
