🔎 Choosing the right seat size
This model is not ordered by the inch: Passier makes it in four seat sizes. The first three each cover two sizes, while the fourth corresponds to just one.
- Size 1: 16" and 16.5" seats
- Size 2: 17" and 17.5" seats
- Size 3: 18" and 18.5" seats
- Size 4: 19" seat
The standard wither opening is 27.5 cm, a width suitable for nearly 70% of horses. It can be made to measure in 0.5 cm increments, from 24 to 32 cm on this wood and leather tree.
Why choose it
When a horse has a short back, most dressage saddles extend beyond it: this one is designed around that constraint without sacrificing the rider.
Fitting options
This saddle is ordered with its options: they are added to the displayed price and confirmed with you before production begins. Prices are those in the current Passier price list. The Queen Special Feature is already fitted as standard on this model. If a term is unfamiliar, our saddle anatomy page names every part, with an explanatory diagram.
- “The Lifter” panels (083) — no extra charge: for a high wither and a dipped back; shorter and rounded at the rear, they quickly leave the back and cannot press on it
- frt-System® (051) — €440: anatomical gullet plate branches that free the shoulder during movement; Passier recommends combining it with the front panel wedges (043)
- 15° open cantle (054) — €330: more room and freedom in the saddle with the same seat size; on a horse with a short back, it allows you to go down one seat size
- Freedom of movement panel (048) — €280: developed with instructor Eberhard Weiß, including a widened gullet plate; the trapezius can expand freely
- Widened gullet plate (080) — €140: for horses with high, wide withers, making saddle fitting easier
- Front panel wedges (043) — €100: more panel volume at the front, to fill hollows behind the shoulder
- Additional billet straps with widened buckle guard (041) — €70
- Saddle handle (062) — €29
Leatherwork and finishes: Deluxe-lined flaps (088, €660), covered large and small flaps (053, €450), flaps in Natural Grip leather (087, €230), special-design thigh blocks (089, €230), Velcro thigh blocks (055, €150), cantle in a design variation with Premium Crystals (057, €250) or without (056, €130). Any other customisation — stitching colour, raised varnished topstitching, two-tone finish… — is subject to a €50 design study fee (992).
Premium Crystals (059) — €12 each: Clear Crystal, Colorado Topaz, Silver Night, Rosé, Siam Red or Emerald Green, in 4.2 mm, 6.2 mm or 7.2 mm. The smallest size is available only in Clear Crystal and Colorado Topaz.
A saddle made for your horse
This saddle is made to order. When your order is confirmed, we will determine with you the seat size, tree width (adjustable in 0.5 cm increments, from 24 to 32 cm on this wood and leather tree) and colour. Allow approximately two months for production. PS tree saddles ordered from 1September 2026 onwards are automatically delivered with the new Superior leather on the seat and thigh blocks.
Have your horse's back measured: Passier fits each saddle to measurements. Our measurement guide explains step by step how to take a wire tracing of the back, the three photos to provide and the form to print.
